Education

Todd graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Master of Physical Therapy in 2005, after completing his Bachelor of Health and Human Sciences in 2004. He received credentialing as a Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) in 2012.  In 2017, he became board certified as an Orthopedic Specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and the American Physical Therapy Association.  He has also completed multiple advanced courses in manual therapy, orthopedics, functional dry needling, management of chronic pain syndromes, blood flow restriction training, sports injury rehabilitation and prevention, and improving function through visceral mobilization.  He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists.

Clinically

Todd’s approach to physical therapy includes modern and evidence-informed evaluations to decipher the true cause of dysfunction or pain effecting a client’s well-being.  Often this uncovers related areas of dysfunction that are not exactly where pain is perceived.  Through a combination of manual, hands-on treatments, techniques to train the body to work more efficiently, and teaching efficient moving patterns, clients can learn how to manage their symptoms for the long-term instead of just a temporary fix.  When appropriate, Todd may use dry needling or blood flow restriction training as safe, effective adjuncts to other treatments.  Home exercises are tailored to each individual so they may meet their goals.  Todd treats all typical orthopaedic diagnoses and areas of the body, post-operative cases, as well as TMJ dysfunction, headaches, and chronic pain syndromes.

Socially

Born and raised in Sycamore, Todd enjoys serving DeKalb County. He lives in Sycamore with his wife, Shannon, and children, Hunter and Isabelle. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Todd has played piano and several other instruments the majority of his life, and also enjoys outdoor activities such as fishing and water sports
