Education

Melissa graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Master in Physical Therapy in spring of 2006. She also received her Bachelor of Health Science from NIU. In 2002, Melissa earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion from the University of Iowa, as well as a Minor in Aging Studies. She serves on the City of DeKalb Community Enhancement Commission, the Dimensions Youth Ballet Board of Directors, is a member of Lincoln Elementary School PTA, DeKalb County Panhellenic, DeKalb County Farm Bureau, and is a past member of the DeKalb Education Foundation. She is also a graduate of the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce Leadership Academy Class of 2008. Melissa enjoys volunteering with Barb Food Mart and in her children's elementary classroom.

Clinically

Melissa is interested in treating a diverse range of sport and orthopedic injuries, varied diagnoses and patients of all ages. She has continued her education in orthopedic and sport conditions, and enjoys treating extremity and spine disorders through manual therapy and therapeutic exercise.

Socially

Melissa was raised and lives in DeKalb with her husband, Zach, and daughters Lily, Gabby, and Maddy. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Her personal interests include cooking, reading, knitting, traveling, and being creative. In the summer, you can find her outdoors: biking, fishing, camping, riding four-wheelers, and playing soccer with her girls in the yard.
