Education

After earning her Bachelor of Arts in Biology at Augustana College, Kristin graduated from Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, IA with her Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2004. She has been a board-certified specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy since 2009. She has completed education courses on chronic pain, trigger point dry needling, manual and manipulative therapy for the spine, and evaluation and treatment of balance and dizziness disorders. In 2016, Kristin completed a series of continuing education courses to become a Certified ImPACT credentialed physical therapist. The Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Test (ImPACT) is the most widely used computerized neurocognitive test for concussions. Kristin is also trained to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations and supervise work conditioning programs.

Clinically

Kristin’s primary clinical interests include the evaluation and treatment of vestibular and balance disorders, neck and back pain, chronic pain, and performing artist and sport rehabilitation. She enjoys using an evidence-based approach to develop and implement various treatment techniques.

Socially

Outside of work, Kristin has a passion for houseplants and gardening, singing, rollerblading, spending time outdoors (geocaching, hiking, camping, fishing), and enjoying time with her family. She has been President of the HarmonEssence A Cappella (Barbershop) Chorus in DeKalb since 2016. Kristin is also very active the the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Illinois Chapter serving as IPTA Assembly Delegate for many years, Vice Chair o f the North Central District of the IPTA, and delegate to the APTA House of Delegates, nationally.
