Ken Olson Releases Third Edition of Book

Physical Therapist Ken Olson recently completed the third edition of his textbook, Manual Physical Therapy of the Spine, published in 2022 by Elsevier. The first two editions published in 2009 and 2016 have been adopted by many physical therapy education programs throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia/South Pacific region to instruct in the examination and treatment of spine and temporomandibular disorders. The textbook includes access to a website with over 200 video clips of demonstration of manual physical therapy examination and treatment techniques. The third edition provides an updated comprehensive resource of current evidence-based treatment procedures and guidelines for physical therapists and physical therapy students to effectively examine and treat spinal and temporomandibular disorders with a combination of specific exercise, manipulation, and patient education.

Olson is Fellowship-Trained and Board Certified in orthopaedic and manual physical therapy and highly respected in the international specialty of manual and manipulative physical therapy. He is also an adjunct faculty member at Northern Illinois University’s Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Olson maintains a full time clinical physical therapy practice at the Northern Rehab DeKalb Sycamore Road location and is available to accept new patients. He is a past-President of the International Federation of Orthopaedic Manipulative Physical Therapists (IFOMPT) and is an active member of the Kishwaukee Sunrise Rotary Club and the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors.
