Rochelle Scholarship Presented to Katherine Bakken

We are pleased to announce and present our annual Rochelle Township High School 2019 Sports and Health Scholarship to Katherine Bakken!
Katherine Bakken, a recently graduated senior at Rochelle Township High School, was chosen for her outstanding achievements in athletics, academics, and choice to pursue a career in the healthcare field. Katherine is a National Honors Society, Interact Club, and Key Club member, served in Student Council all four years including being Treasurer for two years, a member of the Math Team, and participated in the After Hours Vocal Jazz Group. She was an active athlete all four years in high school in Cross Country and Track & Field, and in Volleyball in 2015. Katherine attended several Northern Illinois Big XII Sectionals, Regionals, and All-Conference events for Cross Country and Track, and was an IHSA Class 2A State Qualifier for Track. Additionally, she earned the Silver Service/Silver Cord for 400 volunteer hours for serving at the Rochelle Christian Food Pantry, The Kitchen Table, RTHS Athletic Boosters Concessions, and St. Paul’s Youth Group. This fall, Katherine will be attending the University of St. Francis for Nursing with a special interest in Geriatric Nursing.
