We are pleased to announce and present our annual Genoa Kingston High School 2023 Health & Wellness Scholarship to Maya Garcia!

Maya Garcia, a recently graduated senior at Genoa-Kingston High School, was chosen for her outstanding achievements in athletics, academics, extra-curricular activities, and her choice to pursue a career in the healthcare field. Maya was a member of the Soccer team, Cheerleading (both sideline and competitive cheer) and was Co-Captain her senior year for both seasons, Concert and Marching Band, and Drama team. She is a member of the National Honors Society and National Technical Honor Society, an organization with Kishwaukee College CNA program. She was involved in the GKHS Student Advisory Club, International Club, and Future Problem-Solving Club, and volunteered at the Cogs Run and in the GKHS Guidance office. She has received the MPV Competitive Cheerleading award and her CNA certificate in 2022. This fall, Maya will be attending Northern Illinois University to pursue a Nursing degree.

Northern Rehab is pleased to acknowledge the sportsmanship, athletic and academic excellence, and community involvement displayed by this year’s recipient, and we support our community in their sports and academic accomplishments and those promoting active and healthy lifestyles.
