Coat Drive Items Donated to SUMC Coat Drive

We recently held a successful Coat Drive for the Sycamore United Methodist Church (SUMC) Coat Ministry. A very large donation of numerous bags and bins full of coats along with hats and mittens were recently delivered. “We are so glad to partner with the SUMC Coat Ministry each year. Many people lack enough warm clothing to stay protected and warm throughout winter, and lack the money to buy that clothing. Northern Rehab strives to support the needs in our community and enjoy hosting this annual coat drive in order to help keep those in need warm each winter,” comments Northern Rehab’s Marketing Director Deb Loitz.

Pictured here (left to right) are SUMC Coat Ministry Chair Mary Ann Warman, volunteer Gehrig Frost, Northern Rehab’s Deb Loitz, and volunteer Jordan Pecaro. Gehrig and Jordan both volunteer weekly at SUMC’s Coat Ministry and Food Pantry as part of the Sycamore Community School District’s Life School Program. Mary Ann expressed, “We are so thankful to the many area residents who donated coats and winter items, and we are especially grateful to Northern Rehab for organizing this annual coat drive. These donations arrived at the perfect time because we were very low on the selection and sizes of coats for our community members in need. Now we are able to help keep men, women and children stay warm this season!”

The SUMC Coat Ministry is open every Monday from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm during Food Pantry hours at the church located at 160 Johnson Avenue in Sycamore.
